Partner blog – Brock Online Academy

Sophie_billedeOur Danish partner is Brock Online Academy and teacher Sophie Løhr makes her first reflection on the project cooperation.

I am participating in this project because I have been working for the past 3 years as an online teacher. This is such a new area that it is hard to find the best practice and relevant know-how and is in addition an area that constantly challenges my role as a teacher. This focus on webinars and the challenge of matching the online learning space with the physical classroom is one I have worked a lot with in recent years. How do we create a learning process in a medium that for many students is completely new? How do we encode the learning process into the DNA of the webinar format so that it doesn’t simply become a traditional communication tool? This is something I’m really interested in. I hope the project will provide a foundation for even more competence in this field so that we can both empirically and theoretically investigate the framework of the webinar of the future, one that includes a clear learning process and can become an important collaborative tool.
